Do this before you start on another vision board

Hey hey Reader!

It’s vision board season again. And listen… I’m not anti-vision-board. They’re cute, they’re fun, they’re aspirational or whatever but a lot of us are slapping big brilliant ideas onto a board…while quietly knowing we didn’t create the space for them this year.

The idea was there. The desire was there. But the capacity? The support? Yeah… not so much.

And I don’t say that with judgment.

I say it because every single client I worked with this year had at least one big idea they were excited about —

and none of them were actually stuck because the idea was “too much.” They were stuck because their business wasn’t built to support them bringing it to life.

What did you put on the back burner this year?

What idea did you keep pushing “to next quarter”? What project did you never touch because you were too busy just trying to keep up? What thing did you want to launch or improve or hand off?

If your business had been running the way you needed it to, what would’ve actually been possible for you?

You have incredible ideas. You have an offer that slaps and you have clients who adore you. But you also have:

  • Processes that are too manual
  • Systems that only work when you show up
  • Too many moving pieces in your head
  • Not enough structure to support the version of you who has bigger goals

And that’s the real tension this time of year, right?

So before you start gluing photos and words of the year to a board… I want you to think about what you’re actually done carrying with you into next year.

What do you want to stop doing? What do you want to finally start doing? And what needs to change behind the scenes so those ideas aren’t just pretty pictures - they’re things you actually get to experience?

That’s what I want to help you step into as we close out this year. More on that soon.

But for now… get honest with yourself. Your big ideas deserve to step off that vision board and into reality.

In a nutshell, I make sure you're secret sauce is showcased throughout every phase of your client journey. The key to really creating an experience that brings in referrals is making sure your clients feel seen, heard, and supported within every checkpoint. I like to encourage people to think through their best and worst experiences with another service provider - what made that experience so great and what could you have done without. Don't overlook the small things - include a custom video in your proposal to make sure the potential client knows that you listened and understood their key painpoints. Don't take their money and run lol after onboarding make sure they know exactly what they can expect to happen next, and when. And once a project is wrapped up, incentivize them for coming back or sending folks back to you
