it's time to clean house

It's spooky season, Reader!

I've never been big on Halloween. My birthday lands a few days before, so I'm usually still eating cake. But this time of year does remind me of the other spooky stuff hiding in a business.

There are the subscriptions you're paying for and haven't opened since spring, and the ClickUp tasks that have been overdue for months or never had a due date. There are lead and client emails that still sound like you did two years ago, and a Dubsado account full of forms named "Proposal (copy) (copy)". And we don't need to talk about the inbox.

Q4 is the best time to deal with all of it. Once the holidays hit, nobody wants to be fixing a broken form or untangling a Zap while they're trying to log off.

So I'm dusting off my Q4 Biz Audit and cleaning house, and you can follow along.

It's a free checklist that walks you through blocking your holiday dates, planning a specific holiday sale, auditing your tech stack, tidying your project management tool, reading the automated emails your leads and clients receive, and deleting those duplicate forms.

Do it now and you'll thank yourself when you're signing off for the holidays without a worry in the world.

In a nutshell, I make sure you're secret sauce is showcased throughout every phase of your client journey. The key to really creating an experience that brings in referrals is making sure your clients feel seen, heard, and supported within every checkpoint. I like to encourage people to think through their best and worst experiences with another service provider - what made that experience so great and what could you have done without. Don't overlook the small things - include a custom video in your proposal to make sure the potential client knows that you listened and understood their key painpoints. Don't take their money and run lol after onboarding make sure they know exactly what they can expect to happen next, and when. And once a project is wrapped up, incentivize them for coming back or sending folks back to you
